So as you know, I came back from New Zealand about, woah, like a week and a half ago. I went over with my favourite people: Taj, Emma and Jack. We had suchhh a great time and ever since I have been missing spending every minute of every day with them.
We had to fly down to Sydney first (no flights direct to NZ from my city), where we caught a taxi to the Hyatt, (called our parents to let them know we had arrived safe and sound), settled at our suite and then Emma and I left the boys to it, and we went shopping! We had such a great time, despite the rather chilly weather! We scooted around town, caught a few ferries, had a gorgeous lunch. One thing I love about Sydney (and I can say the same about Melbourne) is the atmosphere, particularly in dining. Ah! Love it. Once our feet got tired (oh, the price we pay for ultra high heels), we made our way back to the hotel, only to find the two boys sound asleep! We couldn’t believe it. We found out later that they had gone down to the hotel restaurant for a feed, had a couple of red wines which made them both rather sleepy. Emma and I woke them both up straight away, and settled with no excuses (and trust me when I say, they tried). Hahaha. I think we mucked around for a while after that, just in our hotel rooms. The rooms were quite amazing I must say. I don’t think I ever get used to the Hyatt and its splendor and incredible views. No joke, you can actually see the Opera House from the room, over looking the harbour. From other rooms you can see the Harbour Bridge too. Exquisite! We decided to go out for dinner down at Watsons Bay, a short drive from the Sydney CBD. Dinner was amazing and the company was even more amazing. Then we went back to the hotel for a few drinks, happy snaps and the rest. I had such a great day that I felt like stuffing New Zealand, and just staying in Sydney for the duration! But of course, after a very early breakfast in bed (hehe, thanks Taj :]) we packed our stuff and found ourselves at the International airport. Our flight over got delayed for I think an hour, so we slummed around there for a while.
And then we were in NZ. We collected our luggage (I had to wait for fricken ages for my snowboard to come out on the belt – and I thought precious goods were meant to come out first!) and then went to collect our car, just to find out that they didn’t have one for us. That’s right, our car hadn’t turned up yet! I was like WTF? Apparently the people who had the car before us had rung in and told them that they couldn’t be back for another day. You can imagine how angry we were. We had paid our bill already upfront, so technically we were paying for nothing, and it’s pretty expensive. Jack got very angry. Angry enough that they gave us a different car from the one we wanted for the night. It was getting pretty late by then (time difference), so all we wanted to do was get out of there, so we took the car. It was bloody freeeeeeeezing outside! I think it must have been about -8, which is quite cold for Christchurch. It sure was nice to see a snow covered city though. When we got to the Crowne Plaza we all collapsed. It had been a very long day indeed. Funnily enough, Jack got us all up for dinner which we had at some little Asian restaurant. Then we went back and fell asleep.
And right now I have to leave you at that. I will write the rest soon (maybe even tomorrow, ooh-la-la). ;]
Cya’s!
